THEOplayer is looking for high-performing business developers (multiple positions) to help us meet our ambitious growth objectives in the online video industry.

The role reports to the VP, Sales & Partnerships and will involve managing an active customer pipeline and closing new business to deliver exceptional revenue growth in our fast-growing global industry.

The business developer role is responsible for positioning and closing deals with prospective customers in new markets. This will include formulating new market sales tactics, pipeline management, deal development and qualification, articulating the THEOplayer value proposition, guiding prospects in their decision process, and ultimately gaining commitment to the deal.

The online video market is a market growing at lightning speed. THEOplayer plays a pivotal role in the evolving video landscape and is a recognised market leader in the HTML5 player domain. In both 2016 and 2017 THEOplayer won the Streaming Media Reader's Choice Award in the Video Player category, confirming its game changing role.

The company literally has more leads than it can handle right now, so there will be minimal cold calling. Target clients will be telecommunications service providers, online video publishers, broadcasters and content producers across all regions of the world.

The international business developer will work from Leuven.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work as a key part of a dynamic team to drive sales across segments and regions.
  • Develop personal plans for achieving your sales goals and developing the company’s business.
  • Identify customers and close deals in markets that are currently untouched.
  • Manage the customer sales cycle from pre-qualified lead through to close.
  • Guide prospects through the product evaluation and purchasing process.
  • Close new business at or above quota level.
  • Participate in product and sales training programs to achieve your potential.
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting.
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to the management team
  • Bring your experience and ideas to advance our company's vision for the future.
  • Travel occasionally for international conferences, events and customer meetings.
  • Be a brand enthusiast for THEOplayer.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of the online video industry is a plus.
  • Proven experience in (inside) sales/business development. Ideally in SaaS, enterprise software or video/streaming platforms.
  • Proven track record of sales success (preferably in a 'hunting' role).
  • Sharp focus on achieving goals.
  • Some B2B (inside) sales experience in a revenue closing role.
  • Experience with engaging with decision makers and executive level.
  • Ability to understand and familiarise quickly with technical products.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Tertiary qualification (University degree or similar).
  • Understand the dynamics of an international fast-growing scale-up.
  • Tons of energy, passion, humor and enthusiasm.
  • Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills: courteous, well-spoken and polished.
