Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to help set and execute the vision for our THEOplayer Universal Video Player Solution. You work closely together with one or more of our development teams. Together with the Product Manager, you will be responsible for product and service quality processes, vision development and backlog implementation, combining creativity and pragmatism to reach the optimal solution.  You help translate a high-level functional design into bite-sized user stories for your team(s) and are responsible for maximizing the value of the product and the work of the development team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • You manage the technical and tactical aspects of the assigned product components road map;
  • You are embedded in one or more development teams but report into the Product Management function;
  • You clarify features; break them up in incremental iterations and translate them subsequently into user stories and acceptance criteria;
  • You coordinate and prioritize the product component backlog to maximize business value;
  • You define the component planning in coordination with the dependent component product owners and the team’s scrum master[s];
  • You communicate and report on the planning, development and QA progress of the different product components to the Product Manager responsible for the Product.


Desired Skills and Experience

  • You have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (Product Owner, Project Manager, Business analyst);
  • You have a master’s degree in a relevant field;
  • Prior experience in a SDK/SaaS environment a plus;
  • You have an experience with Scrum / Agile methodologies;
  • Prior experience in the video industry is a big plus;
  • You have a "can do" mentality and you have a sense of initiative;
  • You work accurately and have an eye for detail and quality;
  • You are a problem solver, curious and collaborative;
  • You are a people person because when a team is moving fast in Agile, communication is the effective force which holds the team together;
  • You don't fear change but accept it as a reality of life and adapt to it.
