How you'll make a difference

As a sales engineer you will play an essential role in OpenTelly as you will have a massive impact on its growth. The online video market is a market growing at lightning speed. THEOplayer is a real pioneer, that is leading the way forward in this market. Our sales team shares the THEOplayer success stories with online video publishers and broadcasters around the world and helps them understand the value THEOplayer offers to them. As a key member of the sales team, the sales engineer’s role is vital to support the sales team grow. Your role will include deal development, articulating the THEOplayer value proposition to our prospects, guiding these prospects in their technical decision process to use our great product, and ultimately supporting the sales team to gain commitment to the deal.

The life of a Sales Engineer at THEOplayer 

  • Ask questions and uncover our prospects' pains
  • Assist Account Executives in proving value of our solution and question customer’s status quo
  • Serve as a brand enthusiast for THEOplayer
  • Work directly with our international enterprise customers and partners
  • Be the technical resource around streaming video, APIs, customization and other related technology
  • Manage a portfolio of trial implementation and projects on schedule to ensure trial converts to customer
  • Scope projects, create SOWs and partner with Account Executives to enhance sales process
  • Be a trusted advisor among internal and external constituents (up to C level) based on program management, product and solution knowledge
  • Optimize communication and ensure effective knowledge transfer and hand-offs to support post implementation
  • Maintain clear and frequent communication with all stakeholders and key management
  • Bring your strategies and ideas to advance our company’s values and vision for the future

To be successful you need:

  • A Master degree preferably in a technical or business discipline
  • Previous experience in a sales engineering or support role (SaaS experience is a plus)
  • Desire to build a career in a customer-facing technical role (e.g. technical account manager, sales engineer, solutions consultant)
  • Foundational knowledge of web technologies (web browsers, HTML5, JavaScript). Experience with online video technology is a plus.
  • Able to familiarize quickly with technical products
  • An energetic self-starter who likes to take initiative
  • A market and result oriented spirit
  • Experience with calling on decision makers and executives
  • A sales mindset and ability to match the THEOplayer value proposition with prospect’s pains
  • Strong project management, organizational management and people management skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Ability to lead simultaneous initiatives in an entrepreneurial culture
  • Multi-task oriented with desire to work in a fast paced environment
  • Commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience
  • A sharp focus on goals and a powerful work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills in English (other languages are a plus)
  • Exceptionally strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
