How you'll make a difference

As a Senior iOS Developer at THEOplayer you are part of the iOS development team. You and your team create, maintain and evolve our iOS SDK. This is used by THEOplayer customers in their native iOS apps to deliver high quality video content to their end viewers. The role also gives you the opportunity to mentor juniors. We expect regular input on the product roadmap and upcoming features from experts, giving you a key role in the future of the products used by millions of end-users. All engineers at THEOplayer are both specialists in certain domains and generalists in our technology. We are a fast-growing company, which gives many new opportunities to you to constantly evolve and grow in your role.


Duties & Responsibilites

  • Specialist in iOS development. Design, develop and maintain iOS SDKs of THEOplayer, available both on Mobile and TVs.
  • Knowledge head for technology advancements in this domain to ensure that our solutions remain the best for iOS users.
  • Be part of and potentially lead a team of passionate, innovative developers. Mentor juniors, and work with other seniors on certain critical domains.
  • Independently go from high level user needs to a low-level specification, execution plan and implementation. Ensure the solution is also well-tested.
  • Work efficiently in lean agile teams. Be comfortable in working in short timeboxed sprints, pair programming, daily standups, test-driven development.

Desired Skills & Experience

Must have proficient skills in:

  • Expert level knowledge and experience in Swift, Objective C.
  • Experience and passion for mobile technology with strong iOS development experience.
  • Senior 5+ years (or Medior 2+ years) of iOS Application development, and be fully capable to design, develop and test iOS applications.

Following skills are also highly valuable

  • Knowledge of TypeScript and/or JavaScript will be an advantage.
  • Experience in building and leading teams of developers.
  • Experience as Scrum Master in Agile development teams.
