Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to help guide one or more of our in-house engineering teams that work on our video player SDKs. You help the team(s) with establishing and maintaining a productive working environment. Having a background in software development, you understand the issues that your team members are facing and help resolve impediments.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • You help identify and remove impediments that block one or more people in your team;
  • You are responsible to escalate, communicate and collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to keep the ongoing sprint on track;
  • You facilitate Scrum Ceremonies like daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, retro and demo;
  • You protect the team from external interference and make sure everyone can focus on the agreed tasks;
  • When an issue does get escalated and causes changes to the sprint scope, you take up communicative position and try to limit the impact on your sprint as much as possible;
  • You participate in weekly cross-team planning meetings as a representative for your team.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • You are driven by the Agile principles in your way of working;
  • You have prior experience in software development;
  • You know the ins and outs of Scrum; but your interest in Agile doesn’t stop there. Experience with other frameworks is a plus;
  • You know the best practices to facilitate daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retros;
  • Conflict resolution, focused conversation on scrum values of openness, honesty and respect are part of your proven experience;
  • You are a people person because when a team is moving fast in Agile, communication is the effective force which holds the team together;
  • You know different estimation techniques and know how to coach the team to produce the best result;
  • You are a servant leader, who serves his team members before anything else;
  • You don’t fear change but accept it as a reality of life and adapt to it.
