About THEO Technologies

THEO is a fast growing scale-up on a mission to change the way the world streams video over the internet. We empower the world’s leading media and entertainment companies to deliver cutting-edge video services, efficiently and on any device. Our flagship product is THEOplayer which simplifies video streaming with a universal video player across different devices and platforms (browser, Android, iOS, Roku, ...) offering a variety of features like content protection, advertisements, analytics, and so on. Next to THEOplayer we work on the future of streaming with some innovative technologies like our own ultra low-latency streaming protocol HESP (High Efficiency Streaming Protocol).

In our industry it’s not the big fish eating the small but the fast fish eating the slow. Therefore we have a bias for action with a culture that is built on high performance and self-development. We believe a great workplace is stunning colleagues working together and inspiring each other to learn and grow.

Ever seen the last COVID update on vrtnu? That’s us! Have you ever streamed a movie through VOO TV, Yugo or Yelo? That’s us! Have you watched the American presidential election on CNN? Also us!

Your role

At THEO Technologies we developed a cross-platform test automation framework for the end-2-end validation of our products on real devices. Our test framework allows us to execute test-cases across different platforms (Android, iOS, Web, Smart-TV’s, Roku, Set-top-boxes) without having to write platform specific test-scripts. Cool stuff, right?

As a Test Automation Engineer you’ll be supporting our teams in their test automation needs. You maintain and extend the test-framework itself, together with the test-devices. Additionally, you’ll be helping other teams with creating test automation scripts and integrating them in their CI/CD pipelines.

What you'll learn and do

  • You’ll become a subject matter expert in our products and their behaviour on every platform.
  • Follow-up on our CI/CD Pipelines and nightly test-runs, making sure everything runs smoothly and identifying potential regressions to the development teams.
  • Design and develop extensions to our cross platform test automation framework.
  • Report on defects and clearly communicate these to the development teams.
  • Closely work with the product owners to increase our products’ quality and monitor its evolution over time.
  • Work efficiently in lean agile teams.

About you

  • Experience in test automation of two or more projects (Web and/or Mobile).
  • Experience in software development - Javascript and/or Typescript (web and nodejs).
  • Experience using Elastic-Search, Logstash and Kibana.
  • Experience working in a DevOps environment; Jenkins, Bitbucket-pipelines.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes and Docker deployments.
  • You’ve worked with ADB and testflight to deploy mobile applications.
  • Ability to understand customers' use cases.
  • Willing to learn new technologies.
  • Assertive and open to discussion.
  • You’re punctual and structured when it comes to investigating integration issues.
  • Flexible in terms of work processes and timing.
  • Experience with either Android, iOS or ROKU client development is a plus.

What we offer

  • A versatile full-time job in the animated city Leuven.
  • An attractive salary with plenty of extra benefits.
