How You'll Make a Difference

As VP of People, you play a crucial role in defining, refining and executing HR processes and policies needed to help people set up and achieve their professional, career and personal skills and goals.

You also play a vital role in the leadership team, serving as the main interface for the HR team and taking ownership for all people related matters. You determine the strategic direction on talent, learning, career and leadership development across our company, ensuring that the business retains its talent and engages colleagues to deliver excellence in performance.

In this role you can put your stamp on a growing business. It is one of the most exciting times in our company’s history while we transition from a start-up to a scale-up, growing nationally and internationally.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • You lead the HR team;
  • You identify and deploy best practices for recruitment with a focus on operational excellence: evolve internal processes, ensuring a consistent candidate experience, job descriptions, interview techniques, and evaluate/develop/train the tools for the team;
  • You are in charge of employer branding: build a cohesive talent acquisition vision encompassing the branding/attraction of diverse, values-aligned talent at all levels (campus to executive);
  • You organize the processes for onboarding new employees in our company;
  • You promote a continuous learning culture throughout the company and develop employees;
  • You guide the HR team to plan careers and performance reviews within the company;
  • You set-up, optimize and manage employee company policies;
  • You work closely together with the management team to identify employee needs, guaranteeing an A+ high performance team and a pleasant work environment;
  • You coordinate the set-up of offices abroad from an HR point of view.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • You have minimum 10 years of experience in a similar HR role;
  • You architect strategy and show leadership skills;
  • You have experience in growing a company (from a strategic HR perspective);
  • You motivate, coach, develop and engage employees by your drive and enthusiasm. Your drive will motivate you to go the extra mile in engaging others;
  • You have in depth knowledge of (Belgian) labor law and remuneration approaches;
  • You have experience with the complexities of an international work environment (20+ different nationalities, oversea offices, work permits and visa processes, etc.);
  • You have experience in setting-up and organizing internal and external training programs;
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, in English and Dutch;
  • You excel in relationship-building and networking and have proven conflict resolution abilities;
  • Previous experience in software companies is preferred;
  • You have a “can do” and solution driven mentality;
  • You are hands-on, pragmatic and decisive with a no-nonsense attitude;
  • You remain calm in difficult circumstances and take decisions;
  • You are detail-oriented with excellent organizational, prioritization and multitasking skills;
  • You love working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in which managing multiple projects and priorities are the norm.
