The challenge

As the number of customers and the popularity of streaming services grew, Telenor Sverige was faced with the challenge of having to cater to an ever-growing number of streaming platforms. These platforms pose varying degrees of complexity: from software and hardware limitations to discrepancies in peripheral solution implementations and compatibilities (i.e. DRM, Advertisement, Subtitling, …).

In THEO’s case, Telenor Sverige was in need of a reliable, feature-rich video player that is pre-connected with their ad-vendor solution. On top of this, they also need a partner who is able to work alongside their middleware partner, guiding them through the nooks and crannies of video playback technologies as Telenor Sverige streamlines their video services.

The solution

Since 2019, Telenor Sverige relies on THEOplayer’s HTML5 SDK for their Telenor Stream and Ownit Play video platform. The solution offered by THEO met all the company’s requirements from ease-of-use, scalability, reliability, and total cost of ownership.
